Mike Honda- 92%, Ro Khanna- 8%

DownWithTyrannyatDownWithTyranny! - 2 minutes ago
Mike Honda is considered one of the most serious legislators in Washington. He isn't a show horse; he's a work horse. So it probably didn't surprise too many people in CA-17 when the local Democratic Party delegates in his district gave him a stunning 92% of the votes for endorsement this weekend, despite his conservaDem's enormous stash of cash, much of it from Republicans eager to take out Honda. The Party endorsed Honda-- as have President Obama, Senators Feinstein and Boxer and every Democrat in the California House delegation. His opponent, Ro Khanna, got 8% for all that $1,... more »

I want to add something to the outstanding series of posts from Dave this week. Harper wants to change Canada into some kind of theocratic fascist petro-state, complete with dead coasts and rivers, impoverished workers, and rigged elections. This much is clear when we look at the indicators and EVERYTHING he and his party do should be viewed through this lens. The man is at war with his own

I guess that many TRF readers are following the Olympic Games. Anthony Watts wrote about the attempt by the climate activists to politicize the event. Even the whacko-in-chief of 350.org Bill McKibben has endorsed the petition to fight the climate change. However, it was only supported by about 105 Olympic athletes, mostly Americans. About 96% of the Olympic athletes silently endorsed the opinion that the climate activists are obnoxious self-serving jerks and scammers. It is really crazy if some athletes were expecting harsh winter conditions in Sochi. Someone should have told... more »

Soraya Chemaly places Dylan Farrow's claim in the context of rampant child sexual abuse, and the persistent myth of false rape claims. Dylan Farrow is in a situation that thousands deal with every day. In general, people want to look away, muttering some variant of "he said/she said." But, that phrase implies an equivalence where we have a gross imbalance, because "he" is more trusted, virtually always, in every capacity, than "she." In an excellent interview in Truthout, Michael Pollan responds to critics who accuse the food movement of being elitist. In a couple of recent articles written by smart economists, I have read the following claim: CBO says the incentives in the Affordable Care Act will reduce labor supply. If it does, then real wages will increase. That sounds like reasonable, textbook economics. But I don't think it is true. The problem is that the logic is entirely partial equilibrium. It is holding everything else constant. But that is surely not right in the long run.
